Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations: live in months.
You can get licenses for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (often called Finance and Operations) from any Microsoft partner. What comes of it depends on the methodology behind the implementation.

What is Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management?
Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management is Microsoft's ERP system for large companies with international subsidiaries. It consists of two applications: Dynamics 365 Finance for finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management for purchasing, inventory, manufacturing and logistics. Both belong to Microsoft's Finance and Operations apps, or F&O for short, which also include Commerce, Human Resources and Project Operations. They are the evolution of Dynamics AX.
- Who
- NAVAX, Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications. We implement Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management with our own teams.
- What
- New implementation and upgrade following Microsoft's Success by Design approach, with a decision at the end of every phase.
- Who it's for
- Companies with 400 to 2,000 employees and at least three countries with their own subsidiary.
- Outcome
- Productive in months. Fixed price and fixed scope: from the start with Quick Start, after the four-week assessment for a migration.
- Why NAVAX
- Since 1994, more than 330 employees at 8 locations, ISO 27001 certified.
You are here for one of three reasons.
Each starting point leads to a different decision. We tell you up front which one.
It is not the software that fails. It is how the project is run.
NAVAX regularly takes over projects that have gone off track. The patterns repeat, and they have nothing to do with licenses.
Yes-men instead of partners
Every special request is accepted with a nod. The standard turns into custom development, and months turn into years. Whoever says no early saves you the most expensive year.
Lists instead of progress
There are status lists, tickets and minutes. What there is not: a reliable answer to where the project stands today and whether the date will hold.
Insight at the end
With the classic approach, what really works in finance and supply chain only becomes clear at go-live. By then the budget is spent, and corrections are at their most expensive.
Three answers, and you know whether it is worth it.
Three questions, one honest assessment. Your answers stay in your browser and are not stored.
We will tell you even if the answer speaks against us. We build Business Central as well.
You choose the path. We name the duration up front.
A new implementation on the standard, or the migration of a system that has grown over time.
Before you migrate, we tell you what it costs.
The first step of every migration; with Quick Start, it is not needed. Four weeks in which we take your existing system apart: what is standard, what is customization that has grown over time, what of it you migrate and what the standard replaces. Afterwards, your migration is fixed with duration and price, instead of revealing itself at go-live.
An ERP is not a vehicle fleet.
You are not buying software, you are buying the probability that it turns out well. A finance and supply chain project ties up your best people, your budget and your credibility within the company for months. The decisive question is not what the offer costs, but how high the risk is that it will not hold.
- Time
- A fixed date for going live, not for finishing the concept.
- Money
- Fixed price and fixed scope. Changes are possible, but visible and assessed.
- Resources
- We tell you up front how much time your project lead needs to be freed up. Usually more than you would like, but calculated honestly.
- Trust
- If your project does not fit our approach, we say so in the initial call. Not in month nine.
Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications
Microsoft awards the designation only to partners that reach the required score in the Partner Capability Score: measured by customer growth and projects, certified employees and customer success. The requirements are reviewed every year. NAVAX has held it since the program was introduced and implements Finance and Supply Chain Management with its own teams.
The standard comes at the beginning, not at the end.
We bring the finished solution with us and go live early. Only what proves necessary in operation is expanded, not what sounded plausible in the concept phase.
Methodology: Success by Design instead of gut feeling
We work according to Success by Design, Microsoft's approach for Dynamics 365 implementations. You always know which phase your project is in, what happens next, who decides and what it costs.
Close to standard: a finished solution instead of consulting hours
We adapt your processes where they are not what sets you apart. Only what earns money gets customized.
Transparency: progress in numbers
Meeting the go-live date, project progress and open risks are visible at any time. No status meetings where everyone says things are going well.
Five phases following Microsoft Success by Design.
A decision is made at the end of every phase.

Starting point, target picture, path.
- 2

Fit to standard: does it fit, or does it not.
- 3

Frequently asked questions about Finance and Operations.
What people often ask before an initial call. If your question is missing, ask us directly.
What is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations?
Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management is Microsoft's ERP system for large companies with international subsidiaries. It consists of two applications, Dynamics 365 Finance for finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management for purchasing, inventory, manufacturing and logistics. Both belong to Microsoft's Finance and Operations apps, or F&O for short, which also include Commerce, Human Resources and Project Operations.
Is Finance and Supply Chain Management the successor to Dynamics AX?
Yes. Microsoft brought Dynamics AX 2016 to the cloud as Dynamics 365 for Operations, later named it Finance and Operations, and in 2019 split it into Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. For AX systems that have grown over time, NAVAX offers the migration path: in the TrueScope Assessment, we review your customizations, decide what is migrated and what is replaced by the standard, and validate the data before it is taken over.
Business Central or Finance and Supply Chain Management: which fits us?
Below 400 employees, Finance and Supply Chain Management is usually too heavy, and Business Central covers that better. The effort pays off mainly from three countries with their own subsidiary, with intercompany, consolidation and different legal systems. NAVAX builds both systems with its own teams. If Business Central is enough, we will tell you.
How much does Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management cost?
The cost consists of licenses, which Microsoft bills per user and month, and the effort for the implementation. For the implementation, NAVAX works with a fixed price and fixed scope. For systems that have grown over time, the price is set after the TrueScope Assessment, which takes four weeks and costs €29,000 as a fixed price.
How long does the implementation take?
That depends on the path, and we tell you which one up front. We agree on a fixed date for going live, not for the end of the concept phase. For a migration, duration and price are set after the four-week TrueScope Assessment.
What does the end of SAP ECC maintenance mean for us?
Mainstream maintenance for SAP Business Suite 7, which includes SAP ECC, ends on December 31, 2027. Extended maintenance is available at a premium until the end of 2030, and a special option until 2033 only with a RISE contract. Because a migration project is coming up anyway, it pays to ask the platform question openly once instead of just carrying it forward.
Is Dynamics 365 an alternative to SAP?
Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management and SAP are both ERP systems for finance and supply chain in large companies. If you are coming from SAP or Infor, NAVAX first clarifies the platform question and then builds on the standard with Quick Start.
What is the TrueScope Assessment?
In four weeks, we take your existing system apart: what is standard, what is customization that has grown over time, what of it you migrate and what the standard replaces. Afterwards, your path, the duration and the price are binding. Access to your system's source code is required.
Which companies is NAVAX the right partner for?
Our focus is on companies with 400 to 2,000 employees and at least three countries with their own subsidiary, especially in machinery and plant engineering, wholesale and logistics. We are not a fit for configurator-driven CTO or ETO manufacturing, for validated environments with GMP, ITAR or SOX, or for projects that want to customize more than 20 percent of the standard.
