Your systems are running. But where should they run tomorrow?
Do you recognize your company in one of these statements? Tap it, and next to it you see how NAVAX supports you.
Who takes care of what?
Your systems run on your own servers. Operations, backups and updates are your responsibility.

Frequently asked questions about cloud & hosting.
What companies most often want to know before moving to the cloud. If your question is missing, ask us directly.
What does cloud & hosting at NAVAX include?
In the NAVAX cloud services portfolio, Microsoft Azure is the hosting and infrastructure platform: for server hosting, databases, backup, infrastructure services and hybrid scenarios. Added to that are Dynamics 365 Business Central as cloud ERP, Dynamics 365 CRM and Microsoft 365. NAVAX advises you on which setup fits your systems and guides you there.
What does NAVAX take care of when moving to Business Central online?
NAVAX sets up your cloud environment, transfers your master data, trains your users and rebuilds existing customizations as extensions. Microsoft provides the operation of the cloud platform itself; NAVAX does not run its own data center.
What is the difference between cloud and on-premises?
On-premises, you run your systems on your own servers, with your own backups and responsibility for updates. That means more operational effort and a greater dependence on internal IT knowledge. In the cloud, operations run in the provider's data center, you use the systems via browser or app, updates arrive automatically, Microsoft or the operator takes care of backups, and you can scale flexibly. Some companies combine both in a hybrid solution.
How secure is our data in the cloud?
Microsoft cloud solutions follow current security standards and run in Microsoft data centers. With Business Central online, Microsoft encrypts data in transit and at rest, backs it up automatically and operates the data centers with access controls. You control who in your company sees which data through permissions. NAVAX is ISO 27001 certified for information security.
Where is our data stored, and is that GDPR compliant?
A cloud solution can be operated in compliance with the GDPR if the provider processes the data in the EU and a data processing agreement is in place. If your Business Central online environment is in an EU region, Microsoft stores and processes the data within the EU Data Boundary. In general: operations run on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, and the specific data location depends on the selected Microsoft service and the agreed region. Your company remains responsible for permissions, retention periods and the correct handling of data.
Does the cloud work with our other Microsoft applications?
Business Central in the cloud is part of the Microsoft ecosystem: Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word work with it in an integrated way. Which of your other systems move to the cloud and which stay on-premises, we clarify in the concept. A hybrid solution is possible as well.
Is the cloud a decision for the future?
The cloud is Microsoft's strategic standard, and Business Central online is the preferred target for ERP customers. It is the foundation for automation, AI, Power Platform and Copilot. Your system is updated automatically, without classic upgrade projects.
How do we get to the cloud?
The path follows the same phases as an upgrade. In the analysis & assessment, we record your current system with its customizations, extensions and upgradeability. In the migration concept, we decide with you on cloud or on-premises, upgrade or new implementation, budget and schedule. This is followed by the migration of master data, transaction data and processes with quality checks, the test phase with sandbox environments, user department tests and train-the-trainer, and finally go-live & hypercare with ongoing support. Our upgrade page describes this in detail.
What if our system stays on-premises?
Then NAVAX advises you there as well. For on-premises systems, the NAVAX Customer Service has dedicated optional service packages: a remote maintenance server as well as archiving and keeping the software available.
Is the cloud cheaper than on-premises?
That depends on your systems. Economically, factors include no longer needing your own server landscape, less internal administration effort, lower maintenance effort, simpler updates and better predictability through subscription models. What that means for your company, we discuss in the consultation.
