Cloud ERP for companies that want to grow.
A cloud ERP runs in the provider's data center and is used through the browser. With Business Central and NAVAX, all your locations work with the same data, and updates arrive automatically.

What is cloud ERP?
Cloud ERP is ERP software that does not run on your own servers but in the provider's data center, and is used through a browser or app. The provider takes care of operations, updates and backups, usually as a subscription in the form of software as a service (SaaS). Frequently asked questions about cloud ERP.
What people often ask before a first conversation. If your question is missing, ask us directly.
What is cloud ERP?
Cloud ERP is ERP software that does not run on your own servers but in the provider's data center, and is used through a browser or app. ERP stands for enterprise resource planning: a system that connects finance, purchasing, inventory, sales and manufacturing in one shared database. With cloud ERP, the provider takes care of operations, updates and backups, usually as a subscription in the form of software as a service (SaaS).
What are the benefits of cloud ERP?
The main benefits are access from anywhere, lower upfront investment, automatic updates and easy scaling. You do not need your own server infrastructure, all locations work with the same data, and users or features can be added as your company grows.
What is the difference between cloud ERP and on-premises ERP?
You install an on-premises ERP on your own servers and maintain it yourself; you use a cloud ERP as a subscription over the internet. On-premises gives you full control over the infrastructure but means hardware, maintenance and planned version upgrades. In the cloud, these tasks go away, but you need a stable internet connection. Some companies combine both in a hybrid solution.
Is cloud ERP suitable for small businesses?
Yes, for small businesses in particular, cloud ERP is often the easier way in, because no server infrastructure of your own is needed. Business Central can start with just a few users and be expanded later. What matters is clarifying up front which processes the system should cover.
Is cloud ERP GDPR compliant?
Cloud ERP can be operated in compliance with the GDPR if the provider processes the data in the EU and a data processing agreement is in place. If your Business Central online environment is in an EU region, Microsoft stores and processes the data within the EU Data Boundary. Your company remains responsible for permissions, retention periods and handling data correctly.
How secure is our data in a cloud ERP system?
With Business Central online, Microsoft encrypts data in transit and at rest, backs it up automatically and operates its data centers with access controls. You decide who in your company sees which data through permissions.
How do costs change with cloud ERP?
With cloud ERP, you move from a large upfront investment to ongoing license costs per user. Costs for servers, server rooms, backups and elaborate version upgrades go away. The implementation itself remains a project whose scope depends on your processes. What this means for your company is something we discuss in the consultation.
What happens to our data and customizations when we migrate?
Your data is migrated, and existing customizations are rebuilt as extensions in the cloud. Business Central online does not allow changes directly to the standard code, which is why updates keep running even with customizations. Which customizations you still need and what the standard now covers is clarified in the analysis.
Which cloud ERP vendors are there?
Well-known cloud ERP vendors in German-speaking countries include Microsoft with Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Sage and weclapp. NAVAX relies on Microsoft because Business Central works directly with Microsoft 365: you open data in Excel, work from Outlook and Teams and analyze numbers in Power BI.
